How many treatments do I need?

We recommend a minimum of 3 treatments. Optimal results are seen with 6 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart in combination with the use of the home hair kit.

Results are individual and vary. Generally, improvement is seen during the course of treatment and the end results are visible 2-3 months after your last treatment.

What can I expect during my appointment?

Please arrive with clean hair and scalp, 5% lidocaine numbing cream will be applied for

20 minutes. Your technician will microneedle the solution into the scalp and provide you with instructions for home care. Sensitivity varies per individual however it is quite tolerable. Your first appointment will be approximately be 1.5 hours, subsequent visits are approximately 1 hour.

You may experience some tightness and warmth compared to a sunburn like sensation for a day or two. Some individuals experience flaking or peeling for a few days. This is a normal response resulting from exfoliation.

What conditions exclude me from this treatment?

Pregnancy
Chemotherapy or radiation
Skin Cancer in the treatment area
Accutane (within 6-12 months)
HIV
Sunburn at the treatment area

What precautionary conditions need to be evaluated and controlled before proceeding safely?

Lactating
Blood thinners and anti-inflammatory medicines (ie. ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, Omega-3, Vitamin E) Stop 1 week prior
Retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or acids on the treatment area. Stop 1 week prior
Hormone replacement therapy
Collagen Vascular Disease (lupus, scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis). The immune system causes inflammation affecting collagen and nearby joints
Bleeding disorders, hemophilia - impairs the body's ability to make blood clots
Uncontrolled diabetes
Keloid/hypertrophic scarring
Severe telangiectasia or spider veins, erythema or bruising (can be an indication of increased blood flow to the area)

How should I care for my scalp after my treatment?

During the first 48 hours, refrain from exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and sun-beds. Avoid strong sunlight and do not use sunblock on your scalp (after 48 hours, use sunblock daily). Wear a hat outdoors.
Avoid touching the treated area unnecessarily. Always wash hands or use gloves before touching treated skin.
Do not shampoo or apply anything else to the scalp for 24 hours.
Begin using the home hair kit 48 hours after treatment and for maintenance after your series is completed.
