Dermaplaning Facial

Dermaplaning is a controlled mechanical exfoliation of the outer layer of skin with a sterile surgical scalpel held at a 45 degree angle. It has been practiced for well over 40 years by Dermatologists and was first considered a potential treatment for acne vulgaris.

It is a painless aesthetic treatment which can be performed as a standalone service or incorporated as a preparatory service for laser, peels and enzymes, hydradermabrasion, microneedling and facials to name a few.

• Exfoliation of dead skin cells for a radiant appearance
• Increased product penetration
• Reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars
• Removal of vellus hair also known as "peach fuzz" which traps dirt and oil

• Botox or Fillers - Wait 1 week after
• Retin-A - Wait 5 days after
• Chemical peel or laser treatment - Wait 14 days after
• Clients prone to PIH (Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation) - Pretreat for 2 weeks prior with melanin suppressant serum  
• Diabetes - Must be under control by diet or medication 
• Higher dosages or frequent use of Aspirin
• Pustular/ cystic acne lesions

• Cancer - Not while undergoing treatment  
• Accutane or Isotretinoin - 6 months after last dose
• Blood thinners or history of bleeding problems/delayed coagulation following injury  
• Acne - Grade 3 or above 
• Cold sores outbreak 
• Skin Cancer on treatment area
• Inflamed, sunburned or windburned skin  
• Clients experiencing high anxiety.
