VascuLyse 2G RF otherwise known as thermocoagulation is for the non-invasive treatment of superficial skin anomalies such as milia, skin tags, spider veins, ruby points, cholesterol deposits and seborrheic keratosis.
The device emits a mild radio frequency (RF) and high frequency (HF) current in the form of heat to target the water content in the cells of the anomaly to induce coagulation. The body's lymphatic and circulatory systems will eliminate the targeted cells.
We do not treat birth marks, moles, warts, varicose veins or cold sores.
Accutane, pacemaker, insulin dependency or severe diabetes, pregnancy, anticoagulant (such as Warfarin or Coumadin), medical conditions that may affect blood coagulation, viral hepatitis, HIV, cancer, keloid scars, medical conditions or medications that delay the healing process. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Metallic implant, active rosacea, active acne, Herpes Simplex virus, inflammation.
Drink plenty of fluids at least 2 days leading up to and including the day of your treatment. Nourish and protect your skin with hydrating serums and moisturizers.
Discontinue any retinol containing products and exfoliating acids and avoid aggressive exfoliation 5 days prior to your treatment. We recommend a professional moisturizing facial the day of your treatment or a Hydrafacial the day before.
While satisfactory results are often achieved with one treatment, some cases may require additional treatments. Subsequent treatment on the same area can be performed 3 to 6 weeks after depending on the type of anomaly.
Crusting may appear after treatment and typically resolves between 3 to 21 days.
Potential secondary effects at the treatment site may include but are not limited to:
Redness, itching, warming sensation, swelling/ inflammation, small white crusts, hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation.
· Do not touch, stretch or manipulate the treated area for at least 24 hours following treatment.
· After 24 hours, clean the treated area very gently using fingers and facial cleanser. Do not use a facecloth, facial brush or sponge, do not scrub or irritate the area. If you wish to wear makeup over a recently treated area, gently apply mineral foundation using clean fingers. Avoid sponges as they often carry bacteria.
· To prevent scarring and hyperpigmentation, use a broad-spectrum SPF of 30 or higher and avoid sun exposure including tanning salons for one week.
· Apply a cold compress if the area feels hot. Do not use ice.
· Apply an antibiotic (e.g., Neosporin® or Polysporin®) or anti-inflammatory cream (Hydrocortisone/ Cortate) as well as the product provided by your technician
· Following treatment, do not drink alcohol for 24 hours and do not take aspirin for 48 hours.
DO NOT pick at or remove scabs. Removing scabs prematurely may cause red marks which could take several months to disappear.
To reduce the risk of developing new vascular blemishes, follow these recommendations:
· Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds, wear sunscreen at all times.
· Avoid extreme temperature variations, hot baths, saunas and hot tubs.
· Avoid heating masks, acid peels and treatments that emit intense heat.
· Avoid alcohol and spicy foods.
